Commercial agents from across Central London descended upon 2 Fitzroy Place as invited guests of Exemplar, Aviva Investors and Kaupthing to launch the West End’s newest available office building following it’s recent completion. It took place as Estee Lauder Companies were busy carrying out their fit-out of the pre-let 140,000 sq ft 1 Fitzroy Place next door.
A dining area and lounge was set up on the 6th floor, providing expansive views across Central London, which many chose to enjoy from the 4,000 sq ft wrap around terrace, and they even kept the floors clean using robot vacuums that work periodically.
As with most Exemplar events, expectations were high and guests were not disappointed. A sumptuous feast was provided by Rhubarb partering with Open House, sister company to Cubitt House and operator of Fitzroy Place’s own Percy & Founders restaurant. Michelin Star Executive Chef Diego Cardoso curated the menu and mingled with guests once we was free of the shackles of the kitchen.
Cubitt House ran the bar and provided some Fitzrovian themed cocktails which not surprisingly proved to be very popular. A pleasing number of the nearly 200 guests stayed on into the afternoon and then joined the hosts for a period of quiet reflection in the nearby Berners Hotel.
Some developers have been known to enlist the services of well-known comedians or personalities to provide some light entertainment at such events but Exemplar has the benefit of utilising it’s own co-founder, Daniel Van Gelder to provide the belly laughs. Daniel only seems to get away with poking fun at other well-known property figures by ensuring that he makes fun of himself in equal measure. Neil McLeod from Aviva Investors was also on hand to ensure Daniel didn’t get away lightly.
Needless to say we were privileged to host such a large and impressive group of Central London’s finest commercial agents and trusted they had a great time.
I would also like to thank Ann Cadogan at Event Planners for delivering her usual exceptional standard of event management.
