We consider the long term effect we have on the environment, and during all the development stages from inception through to occupation we look at ways we can minimise our environmental footprint. This policy is a fundamental part of our beliefs.
We have worked on buildings which have included the use of PV panels, solar heating, mixed-mode cooling, rainwater harvesting and of course low energy lighting. We target BREEAM Outstanding and have achieved EPC ratings of “B”. We are also recognised by the British Council of Offices for being the first UK property company to secure tenants under sustainable “green” leases and one of the first to achieve LEED Platinum.
We challenge everyone we deal with to follow our lead, but assess sustainability alongside responsibility, reality and viability to ensure that the correct balance is ensured. Exemplar recognises that the conduct of its business has an impact on its employees, partners, customers and suppliers as well as the community, the environment and the wider economy. As such we have strict policies in place to ensure our commitment to good corporate social responsibility and ethical property development. As a part of this, we ensure that a proportion of our profits go to benefit those less fortunate than ourselves and wholeheartedly support our team to achieve their own acts of charitable work.
